Our purpose in this community of faith is to become the kind of church described in the Bible.  We strive to carry out Christ's plan to mobilize the entire congregation for ministry and missions.

 Children's Missions

Children's missions include various offerings.  Each Sunday, an offering is taken at the children's Opening Gathering.  Offerings are donated to a designated organization, which is highlighted throughout the school year.


Youth Missions

Mission is an important part of growing in relationships with Jesus Christ. Youth have opportunities to share God’s love by volunteering in places such as local soup kitchens, retirement homes and food pantries. Each summer, our youth embark on a week-long mission trip that will stretch their understanding of how God works in the world. They will immerse themselves in a new culture to witness and experience the love of Christ.  To learn more, click on links, Middler Youth and Senior High Youth.


Adult Missions

Gleaner's Food Bank:

Volunteers sort and pack food at the local food pantry which feeds the Downriver hungry people who otherwise cannot afford the food they need.

Knitting For Fun and Mission:

Meeting on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 3 pm, we are     currently making lap blankets for Karmanos' chemo patients. We are open to other suggestions for new projects this year. For new knitters we have lots of experienced helpers, so if you don't know how to knit, we will teach you.


Ronald McDonald House:

Volunteers provide meals at the facility where the relatives of sick children may stay to be close to their loved ones. 

Fort Street Open Door:

Each fifth Thursday members of the congregation help serve a hearty meal to over 400 people who are homeless or cannot afford food at the Fort Street Presbyterian Church in Detroit. Bag lunches are also made for a second meal.


A rotating shelter program for the local homeless.  Members of the congregation prepares dinner, spend the night during which lunches are prepared and breakfast is served to our guests before they leave in the morning.
