Middler Youth - Grades 6-8

Sunday Mornings

Coffee House 9:15-9:30am

This year we are trying something new! We’d like to invite both our Sr. Highs and Middlers to come each Sunday morning to our Coffee House, a time for coffee, tea, donuts, and just catching up with each other about what all has happened in the past week. Come on out for some sweet treats and caffeine!

Education Hour 9:30-10:20am

6th - 8th graders meet each Sunday in the Middler Hideaway to explore what it means to follow God and to live as a Christian in our world.

WIRED! Wednesdays

6:00 - 7:30 pm

WIRED!  is a special opportunity for students in 6th-12th grades.  We meet most Wednesday nights during the school year from 6:00 to 7:30 pm for a fun evening of faith exploration and friendship.  Unless otherwise noted, WIRED! includes dinner. The cost of dinner is $4 and is payable at the start of each meeting. Scholarships are available by contacting Grace Iglehart (giglehart@gipc.org).  Also, friends are always welcome!

Confirmation Class

8th Grade and older

Confirmation and Commissioning class (CCC) spends a year in study and service to explore what it means to have a real and relevant relationship with Jesus Christ.  CCC students also learn about GIPC, what it means to be a Presbyterian, and have opportunities for service and fellowship!

CCC Highlights

  •  Developing a relationship with an adult sponsor who is a member of GIPC
  • Participating in an intensive study of the Gospel according to Luke
  • Garnering a greater understanding of the life, death and resurrection of Jesus
  • Taking part in visits to local houses of worship of other faith traditions
  • Writing of a personal statement of faith that is presented at the end of the year to the Session, Board of Deacons, parents and CCC sponsors.

Mission Opportunities

Mission is an important part of growing in our relationships with Jesus Christ. Middlers will have opportunities to share God’s love by volunteering in places such as local soup kitchens, retirement homes and food pantries.

Middler Fellowship

We believe having a relationship with Jesus Christ means having fun!  Throughout the school year activities like games, movies, concerts, retreats and lock-ins will be scheduled.
